Women love their car in an ‘it goes when I turn the key and it fits my shopping in it’ kind of way- then we found Jasmin.
The proud owner of a 2002 white Holden Commodore VY, this girl loves her car! The Commodore is named Garner after one of Jasmin’s favourite ‘old school’, tattoo artists from the USA. Jasmin became interested in the tattoo industry through her friends and is “looking forward to getting one (a tattoo) in the future”.
Jasmin has had Garner only a month and already has big plans for him. With the installation of a new sound system, new wheels, having him ‘lowered’ and having ‘the black mouldings made white’ there is much in store for what Jasmin describes as her ‘boys’ car. When we asked Jasmin why she sees Garner as a boy’s car her answer was “he’s big, powerful and a commodore!” We wanted to know if there were any girly aspects to this car and found that its size allows plenty of room for those all important shopping bags and being automatic makes it great to drive in stiletto’s!
It has a CD player that Jasmin blasts out her favourite punk tunes on and volume control on the steering wheel, great for safe multi-tasking!
Jasmin’s Mum says ‘Jasmin isn’t a girly girl’ and with her nose and ear piercings plus the fact she is ‘sick of girls cars’, Garner suits Jasmin’s image down to a tee. The only other person allowed to drive Jasmin’s car is her Dad “`cos he owns a Commodore as well and I couldn’t trust mum!”
Though she would be very sad to see Garner go, Jasmin’s dream car is a Chrysler 300C- another big, powerful, boy’s car! Jasmin’s favourite place to take Garner is anywhere along the coast as she loves the ‘cruisey’ drive and knows exactly where she’s going. She plans to take him ‘down south’ to Margaret River in the summer and on plenty more road.
