Burswood Honda recently gave us the chance to slip behind the luxurious driver's seat of the new Honda Accord Euro and we fell in love with a range of its endearing attributes. Here are just a few...

POWER
This uber smart sedan is thrilling to drive. With 40 years of international racing experience under its belt, it makes sense that Honda knows a thing or two about creating a high performance car. The 2.4 litre engine really packs a punch. With an extremely low centre of gravity and wider track than previous Hondas, this model enables you to effortlessly pick up the speed but feel like you're seriously hugging the road. Requiring only 8.9 litres of petrol to every 100 kilometres means you get a powerful machine for an affordable tank of petrol.

LOOKS
There's no getting away from the fact that this is a very attractive car. Both the exterior and interior of the Accord Euro exudes luxury. We were seduced by the sleek lines and muscular touches of the bodywork. The multi jog dial (a very clever little button on the steering wheel) means you can access all your audio and climate controls easily whilst on the move. Luckily the dynamic styling doesn't detract from the function of the neon LCD displays; the Honda engineers' obsessive attention to detail maintains easy-to-read dash instruments creating a very user friendly driving experience.

SOUND
A six stack in-dash CD player and AM/FM radio come as standard, but it's the ten speakers placed throughout the cabin that offer superior sound clarity. The Honda accessories range will really impress - upgrade and choose from a range of smart technologies such as the iPod adapter or the Bluetooth phone system.

SAFETY
The most important area to consider these days is safety and Burswood Honda explained to us that the Accord Euro provides several accident reducing measures. The Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) system detects any oversteering or understeering and can then brake individual wheels, reducing throttle to help the driver come back onto the right path. The Motion Adaptive Electric Power Steering can sense instability on rainy days when cornering and underbraking and automatically inputs steering to help the driver to steer in the right direction. However, in the event of a crash, there are a number of safety measures to protect you. The G Force Control technology built into the Accord Euro absorbs and distributes crash vibration throughout the engine compartment and away from the cabin during a collision, dulling the force of impact. Safety features also include side curtain airbags filled with helium, progressive crumple zones to reduce the impact of a crash on pedestrians, seatbelt pre-tensioners and ABS. It's very comforting to know the lengths Honda has gone to keep us as safe as possible. One particularly impressive feature is the reversing camera sending a direct visual link to the dashboard display, which allows you to check the traffic behind the car whilst keeping both eyes firmly on the road ahead. The stress-free GPS navigation system guides you to wherever you wish to go at the touch of a few buttons - nice and simple, we like that.

YOUR CHOICE
It's nice to have some decisions to make when choosing a new car and with this Honda model you're spoiled for choice. After you've made the all important colour selection (Volcano Grey being particularly stunning), you get to choose the transmission specs: 6 speed manual transmission or a 5-speed sequential shift automatic. Either way, manual or automatic, you've got a smooth handling vehicle that you can trust, whatever your persuasion.
