After an upset win at last years ARIA’s Clare Bowditch and the Feeding Set are making waves on Australia’s indie music scene. A talented singer/songwriter, Clare’s lyrics reflect a uniquely female perspective. They sway between intelligent, emotional expression and naivety. ‘I Love the Way You Talk’ has an almost nursery rhyme feel, looking at both the simplicity and complexity of love. There are plenty of opportunities for Bowditch to show off her wide vocal range. Many songs are radio friendly such as ‘You Looked So Good’, but on the whole the album is a great example of indie folk. Warm, comforting, and original.
