La Mer, the most exclusive skin care product ever developed celebrates its 10th Anniversary this year. To mark this milestone, La Mer has partnered with Australian luxury pearl and jewellery brand AUTORE to create a limited edition collection.

 

The Crème de la Mer was formulated by aerospace physicist Dr. Max Huber in an effort to heal his chemical burns. After 12 years and 6,000 experiments, Dr. Huber perfected the art of bio-fermentation, blending a mix of sea kelp with an array of vitamins and minerals, oils of citrus, eucalyptus, wheat germ, alfalfa and sunflower. Dr. Huber had discovered something extraordinary in this formulation that is still the most effective cream for smoothing and improving skin.

 

Using Crème de la Mer for just a short time will see skin become softer, firmer, and looking virtually creaseless. Aging lines and pores are noticeably less visible. Teaming up with La Mer to create this limited edition collection is internationally recognized and award winning company Australian South Sea pearl jewellery company, AUTORE. AUTORE Founder and CEO Rosario Autore is extremely pleased to work with La Mer in celebration of their 10th anniversary. AUTORE’ s Head Designer Alessio Boschi, who has recently received the Italian Designer of the Year at the U.K. Jewellery Design Awards, designed the 10th Anniversary Collection to reflect “the beauty of the underwater world”. Exquisite silver spatulas, inspired by swimming dolphins, have been fashioned for the 60 ml, 250 ml and 500 ml Crèmes and each features a unique ocean-inspired jewel that can be removed and worn as a separate piece of jewellery.

 

Two 500 ml Crèmes are accompanied by a gem encrusted tropical angel fish with bright coloured sapphires, black diamonds and a uniquely matched gold or black South Sea pearl. Each jewel is totally unique, engraved with the brand and edition number, and can be worn as a pendant or a broach and has a little secret- an octopus with black diamond eyes hiding on the back of each piece.

 

Five 250ml Crèmes are presented with a brushed gold angelfish, set with a South Sea pearl selected to match the frame of coloured sapphires. A delicate sapphire eye brings the little fish to life – each one is a limited edition and can be worn as a pendant or a broach.
 

Ten 60ml Crèmes come with a delicate diamond studded rose gold turtle featuring a white Australian South Sea pearl. These limited edition charms can also be worn as a pendant.

 

The limited edition anniversary collection will be available from October 2009, sold exclusively through selected David Jones stores nationwide. The 60ml Crème will retail at $800, the 250ml at $2800 and the 500 ml at $4200.
